Attorney Young has been actively involved in the Flint Water Crisis since 2015 and is still involved in federal court fighting for justice for those that were poisoned. She helped spearhead the exposure of the Flint Water Crisis as the only willing attorney that represented the Coalition for Clean Water in 2015 in litigation. She was also recognized in 2015 by the ACLU as a Water is Life Warrior. Her legal team helped negotiate the largest settlement in the history of the state of Michigan of over $600 million dollars.
She is willing to tackle tough matters on a daily basis and not afraid to take on issues, cases, causes and occasionally people knowing they may be uphill battles. Her spirit isn’t dampened or discouraged as long as she feels the fight is for what’s right and for justice for all.
Attorney Young simply wants the Criminal Justice system to truly reflect its mantra of equal justice so there can be real access, equality and second chances for All. She always says at the end of the day, “I’m just a MOM (Mother On a Mission) and I’ve been blessed to be a blessing”.
